At DOUBLECREEK KENNEL it is our mission to breed healthy, happy, playful puppies. We go to
great lengths to see that all our breeders' needs are met. They are lovingly given individual
attention daily. It is my joy to care for these wonderful dogs and the rewards are of mammoth
proportions. I hope you'll feel welcome during your visit to my website. I've tried to cover all the
pertinent information but if you have questions, please don't hesitate to give me a call. I love
talking with fellow "dog lovers"
We raise Yorkies, Westies, Chihuahuas, (Long and Short Coats) Pomeranians, Morkies and "Poo"
mixes, such as, Peek a Poos, Malti-poos, Shih-Poos, Chi-Poos and Yorkie-poos)
Check and see the photos of what babies we have on our "PUPPIES" page and don't forget to look
at the "Calender" page to see which puppies will be here soon and litters we will be having in the
future. I do sell young adults from time to time, too, so check out the "Retirees" page!!!
Just to let you know a little about ourselves, I'll begin by saying that we really enjoy country living.
We have two creeks on our farm, hence the name "DOUBLECREEK". We, also raise registered
Simmental cattle. There's never a lack of work on a farm and we stay busy year round. Elmer
loves to garden so we have plenty of fresh vegetables during the summer months and I can some of
them to enjoy during the winter. We cut hay twice a year and that's alot of work too. But we both
love to be busy!!! Elmer started a new business of manufacturing heavy duty hay racks that he
designed and made for our cows a few years ago. They proved to be so efficient that he thought
that others might like the hay saving and mobility features they afforded too, and is now producing
the hay racks here on our farm. They're perfect for cows and horses!!! Check out his website Built
To Last Mfg. Co.
In addition to our livestock and dogs, we have a Quaker parrot named "Biscuit". We have three
indoor dogs, one is "Dolly", who is a Peek a Poo and the greatest little dog ever and a precious
Chinese Crested Powder Puff, named "Chrissy" and a Yorkie we call "Allie". (See all their photos on
"Gallery of Pups" page)
One of our outside dogs is a blenhiem Cavalier named "Chyna". She's the shyest one of all. I
acquired her when I bought a couple of other Cavaliers and she was unable to breed, but I fell in
love with her and brought her home with me. We, also, have another Cavalier that we've "retired"
Welcome to our farm and kennel. My name is Gloria Haynes. My husband, Elmer, and I live on a
200 acre cattle farm located in Central Alabama. It has been a lifelong dream of mine to build a
log home and we finally got to do just that in 2000. After completing our house in 2001, and
getting all our fencing done in our pastures, we built a kennel. I have always had an infatuation with
animals, especially dogs. This website is for the sole purpose of showing our dogs and advertising
our gorgeous puppies.
and named Trixie who is just precious!! Our next member of the Doublecreek clan is Liza. She's a
Pekingese that just didn't have puppies so she's a self appointed "mascot" at Doublecreek Kennel.
She has taken up residence in the office here at the kennel and is a constant companion to Carla, our
kennel manager. She takes her position here very seriously! We've acquired two MORE retirees,
Queenie and her sister Dutch, (Chihuahuas) that we've had since they were 6 weeks old and when
the time came to release them of their duties here, we just felt like they had been here their whole
lives and wouldn't adjust well to a new environment, particularly, separated. So we elected to keep
them here on the farm and add them to our entourage. They've adjusted SO well and have joined
the ranks of the golfcart load that Elmer drives on his many journeys around the farm. We so enjoy
watching them explore their new place and all the other animals here. I certainly don't want to leave
out aother REALLY important member of our outside "troops" here at Doublecreek. Her name is
Holly Rose, a Labradoodle, that I gave to my husband for Christmas 2006. Holly captured Elmer's
heart when the '06 Labradoodle litter was born, so I surprised him with her for Christmas. She is
his constant companion. A great "farm dog" who follows his farm vehicle (when she isn't riding in
the passenger seat) or tractor everywhere he goes. She keeps us in stitches with her antics!!!!

This and That from Doublecreek!
Well, here we are....Spring has sprung and we're well on our way to Summertime here in Alabama. We've got lush green fields, growing hay...honeysuckle, sweet shrubs and wild violets blooming. Elmer's planted a gargantuan Zinnia bed of flowers that's just burst from the ground and will soon be a kaleidoscope of color in a few weeks. His garden of peas, corn, squash, tomatoes, onions, green beans, watermelons and cantaloupes are in the ground. I've never seen anyone as eager as he is to plant each Spring. It's an obsession!!! I, on the other hand, would rather do things in the house, where it's cool, under the air conditioner or work down at the kennel with the dogs and puppies. But, we both find our way back to our beloved front porch and sit until twilight ends our day, tired, but a "good" tired. We so love our place here on the farm. We're told in the Scriptures that we will sit in "Heavenly" places here on earth and I am a believer that this is one of those places.
