I have so enjoyed my kennel. This photo shows some of the dogs little heads
peeking at us to see what we're doing! They are sooo funny!!! My husband
designed and furnished it with the very latest conveniences and time saving
features to make my work seem more like play. He worked so hard to have it
completed by winter of 2003 and that winter proved to be almost worry free
concerning my precious dogs and puppies. Even with forecasts of winter storms
and such I could rest easy knowing we had a generator that would produce enough
electricity to keep everyone's heater on. What a blessing!!! I am so appreciative
of his hard labor and ingenious ideas!!!
At the end of 2006, my husband installed a Clover all in one monitoring system
with audio, that allows me to watch my dogs from the comfort of my home
office, 24/7. It also allows me to store information for up to 30 days on one CD
and also accessible by Internet, should we go on a trip or should I have to be
hospitalized again, heaven forbid. When we have expectant mothers, I can zoom
one of the cameras in on her particular whelping area and see her every move and
be aware of any signs that she may be in labor. Even after the puppies are born
it affords me the ability to see, if they're on their heating pad or if they're
nursing or for ANY signs of trouble. This system has saved me countless trips to
the kennel and instead of going out in inclement weather in the wee hours of the
morning, I can just cut on the monitor and be assured that all is well. What a
gift!!!!
The photo above is the rear of our kennel. It is opened so that the dogs can get
plenty of fresh air and sunshine this winter. In the summer months we have
shading fabric to keep them from being exposed to too much sun. Along the
backside is a trough where the waste is washed into daily and then drained into a
septic tank. We have a standard regiment of quality control.
All the runs are 20 feet long so the dogs can enjoy room to play and get plenty
exercise. They're furnished with automatic feeders and waterers as well. All of
their houses have heaters for the winter months. We have fans for the summer
months.
THE NURSERY/GROOMING ROOM
To the right are photos of the room where we groom our dogs and where the mothers can come inside and have their babies. Also, shown is our big tub where the dogs are bathed and groomed
It is heated and cooled. The mothers can deliver their babies in a clean and warm area with access via a doggie door to a run outside when they need to relieve themselves.
The photo to the right shows the whelping area of one of the cubicles. It is made of hard plastic so that the surfaces can be disinfected before the next mother needs the room.

The photo on the left is a shot above the first section of runs. As you can see, the runs are long and roomy, all on cement with food and water readily available. The electrical wiring is run above on PVC pipe so that every run has a source for electric heat for the winter months.
